The public address announcer at the Hoover Met tried his best to keep a jubilant Hewitt-Trussville student section off the field Friday night. That ended up being just as unsuccessful as Hoover’s attempts to stop a fearsome Hewitt front seven.

Led by a relentless defense and a grinding effort on offense, Hewitt continued its undefeated start to the season with a 17-14 win over Hoover. The victory marks just the second time the Huskies (4-0, 2-0) have won in Hoover since 1997. Meanwhile, Hoover (1-3, 0-2) has now dropped its first two region games for the first time since 1998.
