Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies fired weapons during a Friday night incident in northeast Allen County that left an individual dead, Indiana State Police confirmed just before 12:15 a.m. today.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Friday, an Allen County Sheriff's Department deputy noticed a vehicle parked in a suspicious area near Schwartz and Irving roads, state police said in a news release.

"When the officer approached the vehicle, he saw that the person in the car was armed with a gun," the release said. The officer called for back-up and others from the sheriff’s department, Fort Wayne Police Department, and state police arrived.
