New York state Attorney General Letitia James calls President Donald Trump’s accusations against her of falsified real estate records "baseless.”
“Let me just say to all New Yorkers and to all Americans: The allegations are baseless. The allegations are nothing more than a revenge tour,” she told NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday.
NY1 had obtained a criminal referral letter written by the president’s federal housing director. The letter claims James, “in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records.”
The letter questions whether James committed mortgage fraud to obtain better loan terms. For homes purchased in 1983 and 2000, James is listed as her father’s wife instead of his daughter.
