OWASSO — After falling to the top two teams in Class 6AI to start the season, No. 3 Owasso flexed its muscle in a 45-17 win over 6AII No. 1 Sand Springs at Owasso Stadium.
Jayden Hall ran for 186 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries while Julius Wilson had six catches for 171 yards and two long scores for Owasso (1-2). The Rams finished with 501 yards of total offense despite three turnovers while the defense held quarterback Easton Webb and the Sandites to just 144 yards, including just 20 yards in the second half.
“We came out with energy this time,” said Hall, who scored on runs of 10, 2 and 2 yards. “Last week against Jenks we were too relaxed. This time we were ready to play for 48 minutes.”
Owasso committed two first-half turnovers but still held a 21-10 halftime lead.
