ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) -- Jon LaPoint's time as the Head Coach of the Colonie football team has started strong as the Wolf Pack improved to 2-0 on Friday night with a 27-17 win over Queensbury.

It was the Spartans who cracked the scoreboard first, a 2-yard run from Luke Mootz put Queensbury out in front early in the contest. The lead would not last long as Jackson Bearup hauled in 58-yard pass for a touchdown, his lone catch of the day, from Steve Thomas Jr. to even the contest at 7.

Queensbury would bounce back however, driving into field goal range where Jordi Donnelly converted on a 38-yard attempt to put the Spartans back in front 10-7 heading into the second quarter.

The only score before the half would come from the home side, as Thomas Jr. would find Will Lockart for a 9-yard score
