Friday night was one to remember for Lakeway Christian Academy.

The Lions knocked off Knox Webb in a gritty 35-34 win over the Spartans. Lakeway capitalized on some big nights offensively and made critical adjustments on defense in the second half that allowed it to come away on the winning end.

For new head coach Greg Vandagriff, the victory is a marquee win on the team’s schedule and one that showed him a lot about who his team is.

“This is just going to help our program so much,” Vandagriff said. “Now you don’t have to tell (the kids) ‘hey work hard, it pays off’, they understand ‘work hard, it pays off’ and these are things you’re just trying to teach them about life.”
