WEST BLOOMFIELD – The playmakers on West Bloomfield’s defense and special teams wreaked havoc in Friday night’s 12-6 win over a visiting Rochester Adams team that finished the game on its third-string quarterback.

Self-inflicted errors by the Highlanders coupled with one particular momentous play by the Lakers, a blocked punt by Jamal Shakespear resulting in a safety, proved to be enough to swing the game in favor of the hosts, who didn’t allow any points in either of their first two victories.

“When you have a level of confidence and belief in yourself, and you put the work in all offseason, there’s something to just believing that you can get the job done, and I think the results have showed that the first three weeks,” said Lakers head coach Zach Hilbers, whose team is already two win
