BOSTON — The Yankees’ nature is to be aggressive on the basepaths against anybody.
But after Friday’s 4-1 win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park, Jazz Chisholm said there’s added incentive to do so against Boston.
The Red Sox came into the game with the most errors (105) and the lowest fielding percentage (.980) in the majors . In Friday’s loss that dropped Boston to 1½ games behind the Yankees in the wild-card standings, they committed three more errors.
Chisholm said the Yankees’ speed and willingness to try to stretch for an extra base can force opponents to rush and consequently make mistakes that compound themselves.
