MIDDLETOWN — At this point, Tanner Coll is proving he can do just about everything on a football field.

Need a burst of speed to rip off a long run? Done. Have to get a crisp route, haul in a pass in traffic, and evade would-be tacklers? Easy. Track down a ball carrier as a linebacker? Not a problem.

Coll came into Friday night’s Central League showdown against Penncrest as Springfield’s leading rusher, its second-leading receiver and top tackler. He showed off the full package again in the Cougars’ 36-14 win that bumped them to 4-0.

Every touch felt like a big play. Coll racked up 121 yards on eight carries, a ridiculous 15.1 yards per tote. He snagged three passes for 65 yards and a touchdown. He added a pair of two-point conversions.
