On Aug. 30, Frederick County 4-H members traveled to the Maryland State Fair and competed in the Maryland State Poultry and Egg Judging Contest.

The contest consisted of judging and placing classes of live white leghorn production hens; giving oral reasons; judging eggs on interior, exterior and broken out qualities; judging/grading market poultry and processed poultry products; and a parts ID class.
