WALNUT — The battle of the Smudge Pot lived up to the hype as Bonita football beat San Dimas, 28-14, Friday night at Mount San Antonio College.

Bonita (1-3) sophomore running back Sebastian Vasquez had 111 rushing yards with one touchdown, while senior running back Jacob Maddox rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown.

“Ever since I got here as a freshman, we’ve been working towards this game,” Bonita quarterback Cade Burbidge said. “The fans are amazing. Our coaches are amazing for getting us started early, and it’s just a great team I have around me.”

The Bearcats finished the night with 3 rushing touchdowns and 212 rushing yards. Burbidge completed 10 of 13 passes for 104 yards and one touchdown pass.
