The 50th rendition of the Cannon Game between Pueblo East and Pueblo South was an instant classic.

On a wet and wild night at Dutch Clark Stadium on Friday, the Colts and the Eagles battled it out once again for another time-honored tradition in Pueblo, the fight for the Cannon.

The game started after a 1.5-hour lightning delay. When action finally began, both teams struggled to get any offense going. Midway through the second quarter, Dolphka Lewis scored a rushing touchdown for Pueblo East to put the Eagles up 7-0.

The score remained the same until the third quarter, Lewis tossed a long pass to Xavian Khamphavong to increase the lead to 13-0. South finally answered back with a touchdown of its own in the fourth quarter to make it a 13-7 game.
