Rob Edwards is keen to stress the importance of not getting carried away, as Middlesbrough ’s excellent start saw him named the Championship Manager of the Month for August.
Edwards has enjoyed a near-perfect start as Boro boss, winning all four of his opening league games, and conceding only one goal in that time. The only blemish so far for the side sitting top of the Championship, was a Carabao Cup exit to Doncaster Rovers.
The start earned Edwards the prestigious monthly award, beating competition from Mark Robins, Frank Lampard and Ryan Mason to win it. A delighted Edwards was pleased for the recognition and reward of a lot of hard work, and reiterated that the start was to the credit of many people and not just him.
