After more than 15 years in the wilderness, the Boggabri Colts have returned.
The last time the small town, tucked half an hour west of Gunnedah, had a cricket team was at the end of the noughties.
But a small group of determined cricket lovers has decided to resurrect the sport in town, and over the last week have gotten off to a promising start in pursuit of that goal.
"It's just a group of some of the younger guys that wanted to play cricket out of Boggabri rather than having to go to Gunnedah," club publicity officer Craig Summers said.
"We firstly approached Narrabri cricket, to see if they'd accept us. Once they did, we formed a committee last week. Then we attended the Narrabri AGM on Wednesday night and they voted to accept our nomination."
