Charitable Union has launched its annual Winter Coat Drive to help keep residents warm during the cold months.

The organization provided more than 11,000 items of winter gear last year, including coats, snow pants, boots, hats, scarves and mittens, according to a community announcement. This year, with demand already rising, the organization is asking the community to step up once again and help protect neighbors from the cold.

“Serving the kids in our community is our first priority, which is why we hold a special Coats for Kids event every October,” Teresa Allen, CEO of Charitable Union, said in the announcement. “But the need doesn’t stop there.
