A 23-year-old working mum says she gets Universal Credit from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) - causing people and trolls to say her lifestyle is a "luxury".

Ellie, a 23-year-old mum from the UK who works as a paramedic, explained that she and her partner earn a total of £3,600 a month and are still entitled to £363 in DWP benefits.

The working mum also responded to trolls who accused her of living a 'luxury' lifestyle on TikTok via her channel @ellie.paramedic.mum. The 23-year-old says she is aiming to “combat the stigma that people in Universal Credit do not work”.
