G ive us this day our daily bread. I need an ongoing daily relationship with God so I can know exactly what He wants me to do right now. You may encounter all kinds of voices trying to influence you every day, but when the rubber meets the road, what makes you a godly listener is to shut out the outside voices and turn inward to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the church.

You will notice that when Elijah started praying for rain, the Bible said he put his head between his knees. For me, the feeling of putting your head between your knees symbolizes shutting out outside voices. You may have too many people talking, too much noise, and too many influences, which can cause you to mishear the Holy Spirit because people, by nature, are manipulative. I mean, even nice people.
