INDIANAPOLIS - An investigation is underway after a shooting victim walked into Community Hospital East Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 6:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of N. Ritter Avenue, after receiving a report of a walk-in person shot.

IMPD said officers arrived at the hospital and found the individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was reported to be in critical condition, but later died from his injuries, according to police. Investigators did not provide any information about where the shooting took place or when it happened.

No other information was made available. The incident remains under investigation.
