Preparations have been made in anticipation of extreme heat at Saturday's sold-out game at Memorial Stadium. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s, with an expected high of 96.
MU Health Care Emergency Physician Christopher Sampson recommended that fans be prepared for the heat and keep safety in mind.
"Make sure you're well hydrated before you even leave the house," Sampson said. "If you do feel the effects of the heat, you want to try and get into some shaded areas or somewhere where it's cool."
The game was moved to an earlier kickoff at noon following concerns over the heat. Sampson said this change will allow tailgaters to be in slightly cooler temperatures, reducing the effects of the heat.
