Minnesota's Kody Clemens has a couple of weeks to keep building his best major league season.
Clemens hit three home runs Friday night in the Twins' 9-8 comeback win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The blasts gave him a career-high 19 home runs this year.
Clemens, a 29-year-old who is in his fourth big league season, will look for another stellar performance when Minnesota (65-82) faces Arizona (73-75) on Saturday night in Minneapolis. The Diamondbacks will try to even the best-of-three series after dropping the series opener.
Clemens went 4-for-4 with three homers, a double and five RBIs on Friday. The production boosted his batting average to .213 with 19 homers and 48 RBIs for the season. He's batting .267 this month after just a .185 showing in August.
