A’rique Fleming’s 11-yard touchdown run in overtime proved to be the game winning score as Elizabeth rallied to defeat Westfield, 36-29, at Williams Field in Elizabeth.

After Fleming’s TD, Westfield drove the ball all the way down to the 1, but was unable to get into the end zone after a fumble on 4th-and-Goal.

Trailing 29-22, Elizabeth (2-1) capped off a 12-play, 68-yard drive on Fleming’s 34-yard TD pass to Jamiir Gregory with 1:34 left in regulation before tying it on David Lazo’s extra point.

Westfield (1-2) drove the ball to the Elizabeth 29 before Eric Cespedes thrawted the potential game-winning drive with an interception at the 5 with 18.9 seconds remaining, forcing overtime.
