“That was the toughest day of my football career, bar none,” the Hamilton Tiger-Cats head coach said.
You likely already know why. Fifteen hours earlier, he’d learned his friend and general manager, Ted Goveia, had passed away after a battle with cancer.
Preparing for a game under the weight of that was difficult. When the players arrived at the stadium – they’d learned about Goveia’s death via email from the team that morning – they all gathered for a prayer.
