The Yuma Police Department has issued a public notification regarding the residency of a convicted sex offender now living within city limits.

Israel Salas, 21, is currently residing at 6271 E. 41st Place. He is described as a white male, standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

According to court records, on May 15, 2021, Salas–then 16 years old–sexually assaulted a minor under the age of 12 who was known to him. He was subsequently arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual conduct with a minor.

On Oct. 25, 2021, Salas pled guilty in Yuma County Superior Court to one count of attempted sexual assault and one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor.
