Training camps across the NHL have yet to begin, yet former Edmonton Oilers winger Corey Perry may already be on the shelf.
According to reports, the 40-year-old was injured during an on-ice incident at the Los Angeles Kings practice facility. Following the incident along the boards, Perry was apparently taken off the ice in a wheelchair.
The original report came from long-time Kings blog, Mayor’s Manor . Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman has since confirmed the report , adding that Perry will be undergoing further evaluation.
Perry signed a one-year deal with the Kings on July 1st. The deal pays him $2 million in base salary, but could be as high as $4 million depending on bonuses.
