TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Recent attacks on politicians and political activists have become a concerning trend.
After the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk , the hatred toward opposite political views seems to have intensified.
Professor Günes Murat Tezcür of Arizona State University’s School of Politics and Global Studies, specializes in the study of political violence.
“I always try to make sense of why people engage in violence against each other,” Tezcür said. “Violence is a rarity, it doesn’t happen that often, especially not in a democratic country. When it happens, then you always try to understand what people’s motives are.”
Tezcür said the assassination of Charlie Kirk is a direct reflection of just how strong people in America feel about today’s political landscap
