GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Jackson Lumen Christi both sat atop the Associated Press rankings in their respective divisions heading into Friday’s high school football showdown in Jackson, and the game lived up to the hype, as the Cougars’ dominant defense sparked a 28-14 road win over the host Titans.
Catholic Central, which entered the game ranked No. 1 in Division 5, got 183 rushing yards from quarterback Odin Spencer, and the defense held Lumen Christi, the top team in Division 6, to its lowest point total since 2022.
