A 16-year-old girl was struck and killed by a driver who jumped a curb Saturday morning in Queens, police said.
It happened around 4:15 a.m. at Roosevelt Avenue and Benham Street in Jackson Heights, the NYPD said.
Police say a 38-year-old man got into an argument with a group of people on the sidewalk, then drove a Chevy Suburban up onto the curb, hitting the girl and a 32-year-old woman.
The girl, identified by police as Jhoanny Gomez-Alvarez, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said.
After he struck the woman and the girl, the man tried to flee the scene, reversing the wrong way down Benham Street and hitting a parked car, the NYPD said.
He was taken into custody after he hit the parked car, police said. An investigation
