QUEENS, NY – A 16-year-old girl was struck and killed early Saturday morning in Queens after a driver plowed into her and another woman before fleeing the scene, police said.
The deadly crash happened around 4:14 a.m. after officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at Roosevelt Avenue and 91st Street in the 115th Precinct. Investigators later determined the impact occurred at Roosevelt Avenue and Benham Street, within the 110th Precinct.
According to police, a 38-year-old man behind the wheel of a gray 2009 Chevy Suburban hit two pedestrians — a 16-year-old girl and a 32-year-old woman. EMS pronounced the teen dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.
