Yesterday, SNL cast member Ego Nwodim dropped the surprising news that she was leaving the show after seven seasons. The announcement came during a casting “shakeup ” that saw several familiar faces hitting the bricks. However, in a new wrinkle, SNL reportedly auditioned three Black women over the summer — and hired none of them. Could Nwodim leaving and this decision be unrelated? It’s entirely possible.
