JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) -Janesville Police and Fire responded to a call of a “subject down” on Ice Age Trail Saturday morning.

Authorities said that when they arrived they found a person dead on the paved portion of the bike trail.

According to Rock County 911 communications, the call came in just after 7:30 a.m. from near the bike trail tunnel which travels under Hwy 14 near N. Wuthering Hills Dr.

The investigation found that the person died under non-criminal circumstances.

Police have reopened part of the trail that was closed for a few hours during the investigation.

Authorities said they will not be releasing further details of the investigation at this time.
