But it's not just at check-in and security where you'll encounter the crowds, finding somewhere to grab a bite to eat can be a little testing too.

The Lion and Antelope at Manchester Airport's Terminal 3 gets busier than most places and on a previous trip there we had to scrap the idea as we didn't have time to wait.

But this summer the queue seemed a little shorter and with a couple of hours to kill, we decided to give it a go.

The queue in itself can be a painful experience, watching people who have long finished eating chatting away, oblivious to the fact that people are there waiting to be seated.
