Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday directed all electricity distribution companies to immediately halt the collection of electricity bills for August 2025 from flood-affected regions across the country, the Associated Press of Pakistan .

The announcement was made during a high-level meeting convened to review the situation in areas impacted by recent flooding. The prime minister noted that a comprehensive relief package for these regions would be finalised after the conclusion of ongoing discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The premier further ordered that any August bills already paid by flood-affected consumers must be adjusted in the next billing cycle, providing direct financial relief to households grappling with the disaster.
