After hitting 124 home runs in six minor-league seasons, Blaine Crim connected for his first Major League homer – and first hit in the big leagues -- in his first game with the Colorado Rockies on Friday night.

Crim made his MLB debut on May 2 with the Texas Rangers. The former St. Paul’s Episcopal standout played in five games for Texas, but in 13 plate appearances, Crim had one walk, one hit by the pitcher and no hits before being sent back to the minors.

Colorado got the first baseman as a waiver claim on Aug. 3 and assigned Crim to the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate.

On Friday night, Crim struck out his first time up against San Diego Padres starter JP Sears. But in the fourth, Crim connected with an 82-mph sweeper and sent it 439 feet into the left-field
