OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — A boat crashed into the Holland South Pier in Park Township on Friday evening, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) said.

Around 9:55 p.m., deputies were notified by Michigan DNR employees stationed at the Holland State Park that a boat crash had happened on the Holland South Pier.

Deputies responded to the scene, along with the Park Township Fire Department, the Holland City Fire Department, AMR ambulance, and the U.S. Coast Guard.

Units at the scene found that a 17-foot boat had crashed onto the top of the Holland South Pier.

The driver of the boat, a 23-year-old Holland man, was thrown from the boat and had a possible head injury. He was taken to the hospital by Aero Med.
