BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Birmingham Police Department announced that an arrest has been made in connection to a shooting that occurred on Aug. 21.

According to the BPD, 25-year-old Gabriel Chavez was identified as the suspect in this shooting. Chavez was taken into custody on Friday, Sept. 12, and he was charged with attempted murder and 2nd degree assault.

Chavez is in custody at the Jefferson County Jail with a $75,000 bond.
