IDAHO, USA — More than 20 interfaith leaders from across Idaho issued a joint statement on Saturday condemning political violence in all forms and calling for compassion and nonviolence in response to political division.

The coalition , representing Christian, Jewish, Muslim, LDS and interfaith communities primarily from the Treasure Valley and throughout the state, stressed in a letter on Sept. 13 that violence is never an acceptable response to political disagreements.

"Violence begets violence, hate begets hate," the statement said, quoting civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. "Political violence in all its forms is unacceptable, no matter who it targets."
