A boil order was issued Saturday afternoon for the City of Coweta as crews there work to repair a damaged water main.
The city water system will be shut down at 12:30 a.m. Sunday to deal with repairs, the City of Coweta said in a social media post.
No shut-off valves were available to restrict flow in the 12-inch water main, so crews have been working on an active line and exposing the system to the environment, according to the city's post.
Residents should boil tap water for at least two minutes before using it and those who have had low or no water since the work began on the line Friday morning can get free bottled water at a city water station in the parking lot of Atwood's at 13795 S.
