A boil order is in effect until at least Monday morning in Coweta following a 12-inch water line break.

Repairs to the line were completed early Sunday morning and the water system being re-pressurized, the city said in a social media post.

"After water restoration, we ask that residents run tub faucets or showers for a few minutes to help clear residual air in the line," the post said.

The city will continue to provide updates on when the boil order will be lifted, it said on its Facebook page.

The city said that as of late Sunday morning, showering/bathing is permissible, but for people to avoid swallowing or drinking tap water that has not been boiled.
