The Dallas Cowboys stunned the NFL world by trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers right before beginning the 2025 season. Fortunately for the New England Patriots, talks with an AFC East foe didn’t go anywhere.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones revealed to ESPN New York’s Gary Myers that he approached the New York Jets about Parsons before sending the star edge rusher to Green Bay.

“There was communication — I’m not gonna go in deep enough — with one of these teams,” Jones said in response to Myers asking if the Jets or New York Giants reached out to him. “As it would turn out, I initiated that with one of the teams. You can guess that it was not the Giants.”
