HELENA, Mont. (KUMV) - Montana Governor Greg Gianforte created an energy task force this week.

Issued through executive order, Gianforte says the task force will provide short and long-term strategies to increase the supply of affordable and reliable energy.

Sonja Nowakowski, the director of the Department of Environmental Quality, will chair the task force.

The first meeting is scheduled for September 22. Gianforte says a report is due by this time next year.
