BATON ROUGE, La. − Florida football and LSU engaged in a pair of pregame scuffles before the start of UF's game against No. 4 LSU on Sept. 13.

The first occurred when Florida Gators players crept onto the LSU side of the 50-yard line during pregame warmups, which LSU players took exception to. There were some pushes and shoves as players from both teams gathered near midfield. No punches were thrown, but campus police had to come onto the field to break up the gathering. Florida defensive coordinator Ron Roberts was visibly upset, pointing to LSU players.

The second occurred when a handful of Florida players were jogging around the field near the LSU end, which LSU players took exception to. Again, there were pushes and shoves as LSU players approached Florida players, but no punch
