UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WHTM) -- As expected, the Nittany Lions made light work of a cross-state FCS foe Saturday at Beaver Stadium.
Penn State hosted the Wildcats of Villanova to wrap up the non-conference portion of the schedule.
It was a dominant victory for the #2 team in the land over the #11 team in the FCS.
Penn State's defense was stifling, allowing 11 first down conversions by the Wildcats who reached the redzone twice. The Nittany Lions' pass rush found Villanova quarterback Pat McQuaide twice and Tanner Maddocks once for a combined 14 yards lost.
Adding to the defensive domination, freshman cornerback Jahmir Joseph picked off a Maddocks pass late for a pick-six.
