Heritage had their week off, but for the remaining eight teams in 5-5A Division I, Week 3 was the opening of their district schedule.

The closest contests were a pair of 41-14 affairs, Wakeland defeating Lebanon Trail and Reedy defeating Sherman. Centennial suffered their first loss thanks to a dominant performance by Frisco and Lone Star continued to impress.
