FARGO — North Dakota State quarterback Cole Payton shined on Saturday afternoon, scoring five touchdowns in the Bison's 41-14 victory over Southeast Missouri State at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome before 17,354 in attendance.

"For (Payton) to come out here and be that accurate on some difficult throws," said North Dakota State head coach Tim Polasek during his postgame interview. "I'm really happy with (Payton's) first three games."

Payton completed 16 of 23 throws for 348 yards and four passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 53 yards with one touchdown on 11 carries.
