ALLEGANY, N.Y. — St. Bonaventure's president, Dr. Jeff Gingerich, recently addressed a social media post about Charlie Kirk that he he said "runs completely counter to this university’s beliefs."

Gingerich, in his letter to the campus community , said university officials spoke "with the student several times to help the student understand the gravity of the situation and let them know how seriously the university is taking this."

Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of President Donald Trump, was shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon. The popular conservative youth organization was speaking at a debate at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
