DEXTER -- The Dexter Tigers played host to the St. John Valley Mustangs on Friday.
The Tigers entered the third quarter with a 54-6 lead, but the Mustangs wouldn't go down without a fight. On their opening drive of the second half, quarterback Sam Johnson dodged and weaved his way to he endzone to add some much needed points for SJV.
Next Tigers possession, quarterback Kody Silannpaa used his legs and was able to pick up a huge gain on fourth down to pick up the first.
On the last play of the game, Johnson threw up prayer to the endzone and it was caught by Ryan Fournier for the score.
However, the Mustangs came up short as Dexter came away with a 54-28 win.
