Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles.

On Sept. 12, Los Angeles police responded to a crash near La Brea Avenue and Venice Boulevard around 10:20 p.m.

The pedestrian was crossing the street when a driver in a Honda RX SUV sped through the area and struck the pedestrian. The suspect continued driving away without stopping to check on the injured victim.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where they died from their injuries. The victim’s identity is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified.
