LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Norton Healthcare Foundation's 17th annual Bike to Beat Cancer took over the streets of Louisville Saturday with cyclists riding anywhere from five to 100 miles.
More than $600,000 have been raised this year for the Norton Cancer Institute, organizers said.
They said all of the events are really about bringing the community together.
"People have said, I ride because the person that I love and care about can't, and I keep going even when it's hard, because I know they would do that for me," Chief Development Officer Lynnie Meyer said. "And so I think you know that means so much to us as providers and to the people who provide care, but also for family members to come and have some expression of their love and their support of the person that they ride for."
