The lease for a new restaurant in Nuneaton town centre has been signed. Back in May, the borough council said that the leases two council owned units on Abbey Street were under offer.

The council took the decision to turn the two former shops, which form part of the ground floor of what was the old Co-op Arcade, into one giant unit. It has now been confirmed to CoventryLive a lease has been agreed and the new tenant is currently fitting out the building.

"The lease was completed on 23c/d Abbey Street on 7 th August 2025," a council spokesperson said. "Since that time, the tenants have commenced work to complete the fit out for the restaurant."
