There's often a lot of truth in the complaint that not many Delaware high school games are particularly competitive, but this author managed to avoid that trend this weekend.

Friday night's Hodgson win over DMA and Saturday's Saint Mark's over Archmere games were decided by a total of five points, with the games decided by a conversion, and a 40-yard field goal.

While those games were decided by 3 and 2 points, Newark Charter and Tatnall went to overtime, and then a 1-point margin "under" the temporary "lights" near Hockessin, Greenville, or whatever hamlet Tatnall chooses to use as their neighborhood.

Small margins, but in what will undoubtedly be a crowded Class 2A chase in November, DMA, Saint Mark's, and Tatnall will certainly remember this weekend.
